History of the organization

Community Self-Help (CSH) initiative group began its activities in 2015 with the implementation of the Community Self-Help project aimed at strengthening civic organizations and local communities across Ukraine. Early activities included workshops and consultations in multiple regions — including Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Rivne, and Ivano-Frankivsk — helping local NGOs and volunteer initiatives develop their missions, structure their organizations, and connect with the communities they serve. These efforts contributed to the creation of numerous independent civic initiatives across Ukraine.

On January 31, 2022, the organization was officially registered as a public organization.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the organization's activities have evolved from emergency humanitarian response to systematic work in the field of psychosocial support and community resilience in partnership with national and international organizations.
