We recently reported on the winter(2024-2025) fundraising for Drone Detection System (RER) and Radio Electronic Warfare (REB / EW), for rescuers in the Kherson region. Thanks to the support of caring people, we have already been able to deliver the equipment to five units of the State Emergency Service, which go out every day to fight fires, clear debris and evacuate civilians.
Today, we would like to acknowledge the special assistance provided by Ukrainians in the United States — the family of Omelyan and Svitlana Markiv, who made a generous contribution of $5,000 at a time when the fundraiser had almost stalled. It was their support that made it possible to:
for 161,000.00 UAH, they purchased the Cyclone Radio Electronic Warfare (REB / EW) complex, which covers several bands identified by the State Emergency Service rescuers;
Part of the funds, amounting to 29,636 hryvnias, was used to cover the cost of purchasing five RER devices (drone detection systems) for 85,000 hryvnias, in order to provide rescuers with the necessary means for early detection of russian drones.
Thanks to their contribution, we were able to deliver 5 Drone Detection System (RER) and 1 Radio Electronic Warfare (REB / EW), to Kherson’s emergency responders in record time! We cannot count how many lives have already been saved, but we can say with confidence: this support has made the SES's work significantly safer. It’s no coincidence that the letter of appreciation from Kherson SES reads: “Shared goal – shared victory!”
A Voice from Across the Ocean: Svitlana and Omelyan Markiv
“Since the beginning of the war, our Ukrainian diaspora has actively organized aid for soldiers, the wounded, and medical workers. Together with our family and friends, we’ve joined protests and rallies in Philadelphia and Washington, written letters to senators and officials urging continued military support. In our town, we organized a concert, and children at the American school sold T-shirts to raise money for wounded soldiers. We were drawn to your project for Kherson’s rescuers. It’s reassuring to know the funds go directly to a specific, life-saving cause. After returning from a trip to Ukraine, we raised the topic again among our friends and neighbors in the U.S., shared information about your organization, and encouraged others to contribute. We sincerely thank you for your tireless work. We believe that thanks to you and all those who care around the world, victory and peace will come.
Glory to Ukraine!
— Svitlana and Omelyan Markiv”
🌍 This story is a powerful example of how support from Ukrainians abroad directly saves lives in Ukraine. We thank the Markiv family — and everyone who continues to help.
