“A common goal - a common victory!”

We received a thank-you note from the State Emergency Service rescuers in the Kherson region! We thank our rescuers for their service!

This gratitude is not only for the Community Self-Help NGO, but also for everyone who contributed to the fundraiser. Together, we were able to protect the lives of civilians and help people reach safe places.

It all started when rescuers from Kherson contacted our organisation and told us about the difficulties of evacuating people, extinguishing fires, clearing mines and debris in frontline areas, which are often targeted by Russian attacks.

We announced a fundraiser and, thanks to your donations, collected 262,364 hryvnias, which we used to purchase five Drone Detection Systems (RER) and one Radio Electronic Warfare (REB / EW) device for five units of the State Emergency Service in Kherson.

These devices help:

  • Drone Detection System (RER) warns of drone launches. and

  • Radio Electronic Warfare (REB / EW) creates an ‘electronic dome’ that knocks drones off course.

This allows

  • people to be evacuated more safely, debris to be cleared, and fires to be extinguished;

  • drones to be detected before they approach, and evacuation routes to be changed;

  • convoys to be covered by jamming drone control signals;

  • rescuers to transport people to safe areas even when there is a threat of repeated strikes.

Thanks to our joint efforts, we have managed to protect the State Emergency Service personnel, who work under constant threat, save civilian lives, and make evacuations and the elimination of the consequences of shelling safer.

We sincerely thank:

  • The Markiv family (Philadelphia, USA);

  • Katja Kolcio (Connecticut, USA);

  • Lorraine Mishchuk (Winnipeg, Canada) and every single person who joined this mission.

In our next update, we’ll share the story of a family whose contribution made a decisive impact in supporting the rescuers.
